CHRISTMAS IN JULY AT IRWIN COUNTY DFCS
Irwin County Department of Family and Children Services is sponsoring “Christmas In July” for the foster children of Irwin County. This program is designed to help provide school supplies and school clothes for children who have been removed from their parents’ home and have been placed in relative or foster homes. Foster Parents are given only an allowance of $200 per year to buy clothing for the children. Also, foster parents are not given any extra money with which to buy school supplies. They must buy the supplies out of the per diem they receive for keeping the children. These children need your help to ensure that they get the school supplies and clothes that they need.
There are several ways to help. Donations of supplies, clothes, and money will be accepted at Irwin County DFCS. You can also “adopt” a child for this special project. Contact Mary Lynn Bracewell at 229-468-2150 for more information.
