Senior Center Dance Friday, July 30
The Irwin County Senior Citizens Center will sponsor a dance for seniors Fri., July 30 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the center and will feature Fred Hand the Music Man. Ladies, bring covered dishes; men, bring sodas.
Irwin County Hospital Blood Drive Thursday
Irwin County Hospital is holding a blood drive in the parking lot Thursday, July 29, from 1 to 5 p.m. Donors will receive a free pair of flip flops.
Basketball tourney seeks all-star teams
The Tri-County All Stars Back to School Basketball Tournament will be held Aug. 6-7 at the old ICHS gym. Ages are 13-14 and under, 15 and under, and 16-17 and under. The entry fee is $50 with a deadline of Aug. 5. Contact Pat Bateman at 229-425-8652 or Tony Adams at 229-520-2179.
Football, cheerleading, soccer sign-ups
Irwin County Recreation Department's sign-ups for football, cheerleading and soccer will continue through Aug. 15 at the Irwin County Commissioners' Office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. The registration fee is $40. Call Dewayne Vickers at 229-468-9441 or 229-325-6804.
Last call for report card, grad pics
The last call has been sounded for 2010 Seniors to pick up graduation pictures (individual and group) and report cards in the ICHS office Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more info, 468-9421.
Youth football signups begin Thursday
The Irwin Youth Organization will hold sign-ups for football and cheerleading programs at Lin's Garden Chinese Restaurant in Ocilla, Thurs. and Fri., July 29-30 from 6 to 7 p.m. and Sat., July 31 from 4 to 5 p.m. Football program for ages 3 to 8; flag football offered for 3- and 4-year-olds. Defensive Driving Class for seniors
Seniors: Sign up for Defensive Driving Class at the Irwin County Senior Center. Class to be held Thursday, Sept. 9, 9 am to 3:30 pm. Material cost $14 – AARP members $12. Be a Safe Driver and earn insurance discount of 5-20%. To register call Diane Florence 468-9181.
