Free blood pressure checks all of May The Irwin County Health Department will provide free blood pressure checks throughout May in recognition of High Blood Pressure Education Month. The department is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 468-5003 for more information.
Library to be closed on Memorial Day The Irwin County Library will be closed for Memorial Day Monday, May 31. The library will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, June 1.

Magician kicks off summer reading World-famous magician Ken Scott will kick off the Irwin County Library's Summer Reading performance series with a show today, Wednesday, May 26 at 4:30 p.m. Scott has performed at the White House and appeared on CNN Headline News, among countless other credits. His dazzling performance will be free of charge and open to the public. Scott is just the first of several performers who will visit the Irwin County Library during the Coastal Plain Regional Library System's Vacation Reading Program, which starts today, May 26. Children of all ages can enjoy free family fun at the Coastal Plain Regional Libraries in Berrien, Cook, Irwin, Tift and Turner counties.
Free summer meals for kids and teens Free summer meals will be offered for kids and teens at the Neighborhood Service Center June 1 to July 31, Monday through Friday.
